Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
Quiet Help GCSE provides GCSE English revision guides, bundles, and membership services. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Quiet Help GCSE is the “data controller” of the personal information described in this policy.
If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, you can contact us at admin@quiethelpgcse.com.
2. What Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Information you give us directly — your name, email address, and billing details when you make a purchase or sign up for membership; the specific texts you select when a bundle requires this; any messages you send us by email.
- Payment information — payments are processed by our payment provider, SureCart, and our card payment processor. We do not store your full card details ourselves.
- Account and membership information — if you join as a member, we collect login details and information about your membership tier and access, managed through our membership system, SureMembers.
- Technical information — standard website data such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, collected automatically when you use the site.
- Cookies — see Section 6 below.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Process and fulfil your purchase, including delivering downloadable guides and, where a bundle requires it, emailing the specific study guides you selected
- Provide and manage membership access, including monthly content releases and, for Gold members, essay marking and feedback
- Respond to questions, support requests, or refund requests you send us
- Send you service-related emails, such as order confirmations and download links
- Send you marketing emails about new guides or offers, but only if you have opted in to receive them, and always with the option to unsubscribe
- Understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it
- Meet our legal and accounting obligations
4. Our Legal Basis for Processing Your Data
Under UK data protection law, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract — processing needed to fulfil a purchase or membership you’ve signed up for
- Consent — for optional marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time
- Legitimate interests — for basic website analytics and keeping our records in order, balanced against your right to privacy
- Legal obligation — for information we’re required to keep for tax and accounting purposes
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the following categories of third party, where necessary to run the business:
- SureCart — our checkout and payment processing provider
- SureMembers — our membership access and content delivery system
- Our website host and email provider — to run the site and send you emails
- Analytics providers — to understand site usage in aggregate
- Gumroad — if you purchase one of our AI Tools (GPT) products, that purchase is processed directly through Gumroad, which has its own separate privacy policy
We may also disclose information where required by law, for example in response to a valid request from a regulatory or law enforcement authority.
6. Cookies
Our site uses cookies to remember your preferences, keep you logged in as a member, and understand how the site is used. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site, such as members-only areas, may not work properly if you do.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our guides are written for students aged 13 to 18, but purchases and membership sign-ups are intended to be made by a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult, not directly by a child. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate parental involvement, please contact us at admin@quiethelpgcse.com so we can address it.
8. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, maintain our business records for accounting and legal purposes, and resolve any disputes. Typically, this means order and payment records are kept for as long as required by UK tax law, and membership records are kept for the duration of your membership plus a reasonable period afterwards.
9. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, and request a copy of it
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete your information, in certain circumstances
- Ask us to restrict how we use your information
- Object to certain kinds of processing, including marketing
- Ask for your information to be provided to you, or transferred, in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@quiethelpgcse.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk, if you believe your information has been handled improperly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change how the site works or add new features. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If we make significant changes, we’ll take reasonable steps to let members know.
