About these terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the GCSE English Guides website ([yoursite.co.uk]) and your purchase of any products or services from us. By using our website or making a purchase, you agree to these terms.

We are [Your Name / Business Name], trading as GCSE English Guides. Our contact email is [hello@yoursite.co.uk].

Please read these terms carefully before purchasing. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not make a purchase.

Products and digital content

Nature of products

All products sold on this website are digital products — downloadable PDF and Word document files. No physical products are shipped. Products are delivered electronically by download link following payment.

Availability

We make every effort to ensure products are available for download immediately after purchase. If a technical issue prevents delivery, contact us and we will resolve it promptly.

Accuracy

We make every effort to ensure the content of our guides is accurate and up to date with current AQA GCSE specifications. However, exam specifications change, and we cannot guarantee that all content remains current after the date of publication. We update guides when significant specification changes occur.

Licence and permitted use

When you purchase a product from us, you are purchasing a personal licence to use that product. This licence grants you:

  • The right to download, print, and use the guide for personal or household educational purposes
  • The right to store the guide on your personal devices
  • The right to print copies for use by your own child or children

This licence does not grant you:

  • The right to share, distribute, or forward the guide to anyone outside your household
  • The right to reproduce, copy, or republish any content from the guides
  • The right to use the guides for commercial purposes — for example in a tutoring business without a separate commercial licence
  • The right to upload the guides to any file-sharing platform, website, or social media

If you are a tutor or school wishing to use our guides with students, please contact us about commercial licensing. We offer educational licences at reasonable rates.

GPT tools

Our GPT tools are custom GPTs built on OpenAI’s platform. When you purchase a GPT tool, you receive a link to access that tool through your own ChatGPT Plus account.

  • A ChatGPT Plus subscription (purchased from OpenAI, currently £20/month) is required to use custom GPTs
  • We are not affiliated with OpenAI and cannot be held responsible for changes to OpenAI’s platform, pricing, or custom GPT availability
  • If OpenAI discontinues the custom GPTs feature, we will endeavour to provide an alternative means of access or a refund
  • We cannot guarantee specific outputs from GPT tools as AI responses are generated dynamically

Membership terms

Subscription

Membership is a recurring monthly subscription billed on the same date each month. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method monthly until you cancel.

Cancellation

You may cancel your membership at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No partial-month refunds are available after the first 14 days.

Content access

Members have access to the member library for as long as their subscription is active. Content downloaded during membership may be kept after cancellation. Access to the online library ceases on cancellation.

Price changes

We reserve the right to change membership prices. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice of any price increase by email. If you do not wish to continue at the new price, you may cancel before the increase takes effect.

Payment

All payments are processed securely by Stripe through our SureCart checkout. We accept major credit and debit cards. All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable.

We do not store your card details. Payment information is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant.

Intellectual property

All content on this website and in our products — including text, design, layout, guides, and original analysis — is the intellectual property of GCSE English Guides and is protected by UK copyright law.

You may not reproduce, copy, republish, upload, post, transmit, or distribute any content from our products without our express written permission.

The texts analysed in our guides (Macbeth, A Christmas Carol, etc.) are either in the public domain or referenced for educational commentary purposes under fair dealing provisions.

Limitation of liability

Our guides are educational resources designed to support GCSE English preparation. We do not guarantee any specific grade outcome from using our products. Results depend on many factors outside our control, including individual effort, teaching, and exam performance.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of our products is limited to the amount you paid for the product in question.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our products will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
